I finished reading Stieg Larsson’s The Girl With the Dragon <\/em>and was more than satisfied with the ending. <\/em> The fact that it ended without tying up everything was a bonus. Real life isn’t neat, even though we wish it was at times. It’s curious as well, that immediately upon finishing this book, which takes a hard look at sexual crimes, I re-visited a short story I’d written. It speaks to sexual assault as well, based on my own personal experience. For me, it was an inappropriate request from a great uncle, which I rejected. The incident didn’t scar me. I was lucky having a wonderful father and so I knew not all men were bastards. But for the female children and grandchildren of my great uncle, it wasn’t that simple. He did leave a mark, and as a result, they avoid intimacy with men in their adult life.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
